01 Program Assistant (Based in Hanoi) for the
Community Hygiene Output-Based Aid Program
1. Job description
1.1. Location: The position is based in Hanoi with frequent travel to Hai Duong, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa.
1.2. Position Summary: Assist the Program Officer in the North and other CHOBA team members to ensure effective, high-quality implementation of program work at assigned project site.
1.3. Report to: CHOBA Project Officer in the North
1.4. Main Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of the Program Officer and assist with administrative, logistical, implementation activities and tasks required such as:
a. Assisting the related provincial implementing partners/agencies to facilitate the effective implementation of the program in line with program schedule and budget.
b. Assisting the Program Officer in training and supervising 3 local collaborators in Hai Duong, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa to conduct monitoring, reporting and verification in assigned project site.
c. Collecting results of verification activities and reporting to the part time Program Officer.
d. Visiting families in the provinces randomly to verify they meet the program requirement.
e. Planning and arranging visits to provinces in an efficient and cost effective manner
- Build and nurture effective working relationships with the local partners, local authorities and other related agencies at province, district and community levels to facilitate the effective implementation of the program for the benefit of the poor.
- Translate program documents and communications from Vietnamese to English and vice-versa.
- Collect and file all project document
- Provide support for CHOBA team as required.
- Support the administration/ translation work for Research team of CHOBA if requested.
1.5. Team and organizational building and development:
1. Maintain a healthy teamwork environment among team members working in the same program. Be willing to provide extra support to team members and EMW staff from other program/department/office when necessary.
2. Coordinate activities and resources among team members working in the same or other program/department/office effectively and efficiently.
3. Be an example in working according to organizational culture. Encourage, coach colleagues in working according to organizational culture.
4. Explain clearly and correctly the functions and work procedures of one’s own program and other related programs. Actively provide valuable background information and ideas for the development of organizational strategic decisions either in organizational meetings or in informal discussions.
1.6. Required Qualifications and Attributes
1. University degree or equivalent in community development, social sciences, public health or other relevant field, or substantial field experiences. Experience/knowledge on sanitation and hygiene is an asset;
2. 01 year experience in development project implementation is an asset, preferably in international organizations, INGOs and/or bilateral organization;
3. Demonstrated skills is supporting project implementation within an INGO;
4. Good English and Vietnamese written and oral communication skills;
5. Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively;
6. Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet;
7. Willingness to travel, work under pressure, and meet deadlines;
8. Able to work independently as well as work in a team.
